The "Hi-Opt II" system of Card Counting
The "Hi-Opt
II" card counting is the revision of the "Hi-opt I" system. This advance system
is only for true professional "End Play" card counters. Only the much more advanced blackjack
player has developed the skills necessary to use a system like this. This system
is much more complicated than hi-opt I .
The actual
advantage that you gain from this system is very small compared to much simpler
systems. Using this complex system before you have mastered "Hi-opt I" is
a complete mistake. Any advantage gained by this system will be easily lost
due to inexperience and inconsistency of play.
The "Hi-opt
II" card counting system is very complicated. Unless you can concentrate in the
extreme and look very natural doing so, don't even attempt to use this system.
While you're actually still counting the cards that come out of the deck, the values
have changed . Not longer are you dealing with just +1 or -1 and zero
but you also have +2 or -2 to deal with. This larger range of values makes
it much harder to keep track of the count and not look like you're counting cards.
The card values are as follows :
All 2's, 3's,6's, and 7's have a value of +1
All 4's and 5's have a value of + 2
All 8's and 9's have a value of 0
All tens, Jack's, Queens and Kings have a value of -2
All aces have a value of 0
The "Hi-Opt
II" Card counting system is balanced. In other words, by counting the cards
all the way through the deck, when you get to the end the count will be zero.
In addition
to the new card values it is also recommended that you keep a side count of
aces. The aces are not counted with this system and given the value
of zero.
There are strategic changes that should be made, depending on
the ace count, but we are not going to go into that here.
